Huskies Paws for a Cause--Fall 2009 Calendar of Events

August

Saturday, August 22--10:00 am-noon
Campus Life Building, Room 150
Building toiletry packs and children's coloring books for residents at Hope Haven homeless shelter

September

Saturday, September 19--9:00 am-noon
Collecting seeds to rebuild natural wetlands at Afton Forest Preserve
Bring one grocery-sized paper sack and scissors.

October

Saturday, October 17--8:00 am-noon, noon-4:00 pm
Building work for Habitat for Humanity house in DeKalb
Wear clothes that can get dirty.

Friday, October 23--4:00-9:00 pm
Help with children's games, parking, a haunted house, and more at the YMCA Halloween Party
Come in costume!

November

Saturday, November 14--9:00 am-noon
Organizing food and clothing donations at Blessing Well Clothes Closet and Food Pantry
Bring a non-perishable food donation to add!


December

December 1-11
Collecting hats and mittens to be distributed to local schools and organizations, including Safe Passage, Hope Haven, Salvation Army, and American Red Cross
Donations can be brought to Campus Life Building, Room 150

All projects are free to participate in; however, projects (with exception of December's hat and mitten drive) require advance registration. Registration deadline is one week prior to the project.
